Sarah Sherrard’s music has been hailed as the rebirth of a lost era. Her refreshing reinvention of vintage, 60s sound is opening up a whole new world of possibilities for the young artist. “I’m just trying to make music that fits who I am and what I love. I never could have dreamed of how well it has been received,” says Sherrard, who has a brand new album set to hit the shelves in early-2016. “I couldn’t be more excited about my new album!” Sarah exclaimed. “Recording it, so far, has been one big party and I feel like listeners are really going to feel that coming through their speakers.”
Sherrard’s debut EP, Where I Come From, was recorded in Nashville in early 2012 with select members of the band ‘Lynyrd Skynyrd.’ This project allowed Sarah to explore her passion for more Southern Rock, Country sounds while still letting her vintage style shine through. “Recording ‘Where I Come From’ is an experience I’ll never forget. I couldn’t believe how well the guys from Lynyrd Skynyrd were able to bring my Southern side to life while still preserving the old school sounds that are in my heart,” Sherrard said.
Growing up in South Eastern Michigan, Sarah’s taste in music was, in a word, “diverse.” A fan of Classic Rock, Motown, Rap, Jazz, Country, Rock, Blues and Classical, she spent her early life trying to find her own voice and her own style. This journey helped mold her into a well-rounded, unique artist hell-bent on reinventing modern music to be more like it used to be… more like it’s meant to be.
